What Should Be The Fetus Size At 12 Weeks?

hi there, I was wondering if you could help me, I had my 12 week scan yesterday they said my baby was fine, but said it was bout 36mm which is small for the age of 12 week old, and have go back in 2 weeks to have it redone. but when i got home i realised the scan picture said 8.6cms, my sister in law had a scan same day and they said her 12 week fetus was 8.8cms and i really confused to why they want me to come back?

Welcome to HCM,
I read your query carefully.
Normal size of the 12 weeks fetus is 5.4cm-6cm .
In either case you should visit your doctor for scan to clear the things.
Because 36mm means 3.6cm is small for this gestational age
where as 8.6cm is large for this age.
Visit your gynaecologist as well with the scan report.
In both case you should get done your all base line tests.
Like -BP monitoring
-Blood sugar levels
-Hb levels.
In addition to this i would like to advise you
Continue with your Iron & Calcium supplements.
Take your balanced diet.
