My daughter is having jaundice from 5 days. She was getting fever and jaundice. Doctor asked us to do blood tests and urine tests. it showed that she had jaundice. Doctor told nothing to worry, she will be fine in one weeek. I just want to know, what foods can be given to her.

Internal Medicine Specialist Dr. Geeta Sundar's  Response
Hi welcome to HCM. You must understand that liver is the chemical factory of the body that processes all that we eat. So if it is affected, we must reduce its work load by eating very small amounts at a time, more frequently. We must also eat foods that are easily digested, and give the liver plenty of sugar so that it does not have to work to produce sugar from the glycogen stored within it.
So give your daughter very small frequent non oily meals, and more of fruits and sweetened juices till she is better.
