What Should Be Done To Contain Infection On Toe Of A Diabetic Person?

Hi. My father has severe diabetes and had the pinky toe removed last year. The wound is still not healed, the infection has spread to the next toe and his feet is swollen. He has recently returned from hospital because he does not want to lose another tow, the doctors gave him clindemycin to help with the new infection, but it increases his blood sugar. Is there an alternative. He has CKD and heart diease. What can I do, how can I help? What should he take to stop the infection speak but will also not affect his kidney, blood sugar or heart? Thanks in advance.
