What Should Be Done For The Recurring Cough Of A 5 Year Old Child?

my boy,5yrs,suffering from cough.starting with normal cough and ends with severe cough.dr advices asthalin,saline nasal dropsat first and antibiotic and montair at last.though it stops for a while it repeats after months.it continues from his birth.

He might be having an allergic disorder of the airways... Multi triggered wheeze or mild intermittent asthma. I would like to know more about his nocturnal cough & exercise intolerance. How about other family members with similar complaints. Happy to help if further details are provided.
