What Results Will Some One Have If Doctor Accidently Nicked Colon During Surgery?

my mother n law had surgery for a hernia. the doctor accidently nicked her colon, what results will she have from this?

the colon would have been sutured and taken care of. So there is no problem with it. She can be as usual.
