What Precautions To Be Taken Before Contacting Patients Who Underwent Radiation Therapy?

Hi Doctor, My friend has done a thyroid radiation treatment on Monday. I went to see her yesterday and had some lunch with her. I am feeling sick since then . Having headache, feel like vomiting and fainting etc. Am I exposed to the radiation? What that means to my health? What about my children? Will I pass that on to them?

Hello
The reason behind your sickness is different. The amount of radiation exposed to somebody during the treatment is very minimum and controlled. There is no chance of that you are exposed with some one radiation.
It may be hospital acquired infection. This is common phenomena and there are chances of being exposed in hospital environment.
You may be required some blood test to diagnose the exact cause of sickness.
Suggest you to consult your physician
