Hi!
Thnaks for choosinf HCM.ovary at the time of ovulation release follicle and degenerates into atretic follicle.Incase of non rupture it persists as cyst wherein it is called simple /follicular cyst.Another is after rupture it becomes filled with blood and is called corpus luteum cyst.there is no way of preventing ovarian cyst,You can diagnose it yearly by pelvic exam and also ultrasound check-ups.Take Care.
