What Precautions Should Be Taken After Receiving A Shingrix Vaccination Shot?

I just received the Shingraz vaccine I am 67 and had the original vaccine when I was 60. I also had the second prevnair vaccine at the same time. I am suffering with the chills and general skin pain and generally feel like crap. I am a dentist and scheduled to see patients tomorrow. Are there precautions that my care giver, pharmacist, did not notify of ?

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

About 1 out of 10 adults who received Shingrix reported grade 3 injection-site symptoms such as pain, redness, and swelling. Also, about 1 out of 10 reported grade 3 systemic reactions such as myalgia, fatigue, headache, shivering, fever, and gastrointestinal illness. Most people (78%) who got Shingrix reported at least some pain at the injection site. So use pain killer or simple paracetamol or ibuprofen for pain. Drink plenty of liquids. Use cold or worm compression at if any pain. If you developed any allergic reactions please consult your doctor immediately he will examine and treat you accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
