What Precaution Should Be Taken For Retroverted Uterus?

Hi Dr.Manjunath,

Greetings,my wife USG reports reveal that her uterus is retroverted and bulky and shows a single intrauterine gestation sac.Fetal pole and Fetal heart activity are identified,placenta is global,liquour amnii is adequate,,Cervical length is 3.5 cm Internal OS is closed,No solid or cysticadnexal mass is seen,No free fluid is seen in POD.

Is the retroverted uterus is a thing of concern,if yes whts the precaution.

Hello Mr. Chatterjee and welcome.

A retroverted uterus that has resulted from pregnancy is not a cause for concern, as the growing size of the uterus can put strain on the uterus itself and the ligaments holding it in place, which can cause the uterus to tilt slightly and result in a retroverted uterus, but this should not of any problem especially as conception has already taken place.
