What ointment should I use to treat melasma ?
Hi, Is there any ointment or gel which contain mixture of tretinoin, hydroquinone and cortison in Indian markets? I want to treat Melasma(small dark patches ) on upper side of elbow joint and upper part of my back.Why does this happens?

Melasma is increased melanin secretion in certain areas due to exposure to sun. It can also occur in pregnancy. It is usually seen in the sun-exposed areas of the face like cheeks, forehead, nose etc.
A-RET-HC is a cream available in India. It is from Shalaks Pharmaceuticals. As it is a prescription drug, please ask your dermatologist regarding its use.

Thanks for choosing HCM..,
According to Ur history ...,
It could be due to SUN BURN...,
and vitsamin deficiency.....PELLAGRA...,
So follow this treatment...Don't use above cream ok..,
1) CALAMINE LOTION ....daily morning times...,
2) Betamethasone and gentamycin cream night times..,
3) Tab Nicotinamide daily evening times...,
4) Cap.REVITAL...daily morning times 2 months..,
will give good result..,

Hi Rajeshwar,
melasma is very common disease caused by excessive deposition of melanin in epidemis/dermis or both.
the combination of Retinoic acis (Tretinoin) + de-pigmenting agent (Hydroquinon) + Steriod (cortison) is called Kligman's formula, is best combination to treat pigmentation.. there are many brands available is indian market .. some common m writing here u can apply this at night along with a sunscreen in day time
1. Sunscreen in day time
2. Skinlite-ever / Melalite/ Melaglow cream at night
Please use atleat 6-10 wks for good results
