What Might Be The Cause Of Continuous Vomiting And Feeling A Lump In The Throat?

My son says he has a feeling like a golf ball in the back of his throat that makes him feel like throwing up constantly. He also has been throwing up on and off the past 2.5weeks. He says his stomach really burns. Went to the doctor's twice and they have giving him Prilosec once a day and an anti- nausea medicine. They think it is gastritis. The past several days he continues to vomit and feel the lump in his throat. The medicine doesn't seem to be helping. What next?

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

Gastritis can be associated with the symptoms that you are describing. There are different causes but severe GERD would cause burning in the chest ,nausea and vomiting.

In some cases of severe reflux there may infection with H pylori bacteria. This can be detected by blood tests. If present he would need a course of antibiotics.

I hope this helps
