Hi,

Medicine has got no role or minimal role in reducing the weight. If gaining of weight is due to the genetic constitution then no option is there for reducing the weight as long as the medicine is the concern but surgery can be thought.

The best option for reducing the weight in either of the cases is to cut down the calorie contained diet, and exercise (In genetically constituted case it is not promising) but do not rely upon medicines.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
