What Medications Help Soothe Sore Throat In Children?

Hi! My six year old had a sore throat and fever this weekend. Today he has a rash on his belly and back... Little tiny red bumps and some that are not red but you can feel... I thought may just be an allergy but found out kid he was around Friday has strep throat... Which I now know has all those symptoms... Do you have to get rx to get over it. Or does it go away on its own?

Hi.
Thanks foryour query and an elucidate history.
From the description you have provided, this looks to be a Viral fever (flu), with viral exenthema of the skin as it is called and this is self limiting.
Since strep throat is positive, there must have an added infection; take a course of an antibiotic and anti-inflammatory medicines, bed rest, plenty of oral fluids, multivitamins and he shall be fine.
