Orthopaedic Surgeon 's  Response
Hi there.
Welcome to Healthcare Magic.
I have read and understood your problem. Your relative has a developmental disorder of her vertebral column which could be in the kypho-scoliotic pattern. The main nerves for the hands and legs go through a large nerve called the spinal cord which passes through a bony canal inside the vertebral column. So if the bony vertebral column bends too much it can put too much pressure on the spinal cord and can cause paralysis as she is probably having now.

This is usually the need for urgent surgery from a reputed Spine-deformity Specialist Surgeon who will do an operation to remove the bone which is pressing on the spinal cord and try to bring back the shape of the vertebral column to normal.

With this she may have good chance of recovery if she gets the surgery done as soon as possible.

Till then please feed her nutritious diet and well hydrated, keep turning her to her sides every 2 hours for regular posture change. Take care of her urination and bowel control. Consult a Specialist Orthopaedic surgeon in Spine as soon as possible for best results.

Thanking you.
