What Means Enlarged Right Ovary With Small Follicles?

Hi, I am 24 years old and got married July, 2009. I am suffering from few days ago for my lower abdome pain and irregular period with bleeding. A doctor checked my lower abdomen by USG. This test report saying:
Right Ovary is mildly enlarged in size and contains multiple small follicles. Left ovary is normal in size and echopattern.
Is this problem is curable and how?

Hello
Thanks for writing to us

According to reports, you have polycystic ovarian disease(PCOD) like features in right ovary.
It is suggested by enlarged right ovary and multiple small follicles arranged at periphery in both ovaries .
Left ovary appears normal.
PCOD should be confirmed by clinical correlation and biochemical markers like hormonal assay for PCOD.
PCOD is a curable disease and mostly it is treated by medicines.Surgical intervention is required in very few cases.
You should consult your gynecologist.
Hope i have answered your query.

Take Care
