What May Be The Cause Of Hard Stools Which Sometimes Bleed?
Hi. My query is about stools/faeces. I tend to sometimes have normal stools with what seems like little hard bits in it, that can be felt and seem like they are scratching my rectal passage as I poo. There is sometimes a little blood witch I feel is caused by the 'scratching'. What could this be?
Hello, What you are describing is a fissure in the anal canal. It is a tear in the inner lining of the anal canal caused by friction due to passing hard stools. It can cause itching bleeding and pain. I would suggest you take polyethylene glycol powder for softening your stools and visit your doctor to confirm the fissure by getting a rectal exam done. Hope this helps Do get back in case you have further queriesjavascript:skipThisPFQuestion(854817); Regards Dr Samir Patil
