What leads to blood in the stool?

I have had bloody stool for two months (bright red, not every single time I go # 2 but most of the time-also more diarrea than constipation but again not every time), and for a couple days my stool was almost white, light cream colored), accompanied with nausea (which I have sought medical attention for the past two years only to be told to take Omperozle or other anti acid/gas "medication"), and for about the last month I have been getting hot "flashes" at random--but its now consistent (like a hot flash that doesn't go away) and the area from my chin down to above my breasts has turned red and burns/stings. Because I don't have health insurance at this point I would rather know if this is truly something I should seek medical attention for before I pay another doctor to tell me to adjust my diet (steer clear of acidic foods and take antacids--which I have already done). Also I am female, 24 years old, 5.5 ft tall, 138 lbs, had cervical cancer almost 3 years ago and had a conoscopy to remove the cancer.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi

Thanks for your query.

Noted the history and understood the concerns. You are you young to have cervical cancer at the age of 21 years, a bit difficult to believe. Please confirmed about the diagnosis.
The commonest cause of bleeding per rectum is piles or hemorrhoids and this is usually painless unless there is thrombosis or prolapsed piles.
I would advise you the following in such a situation:
Sitz bath in a tub with warm water.
Consult a General Surgeon for ano-proctoscopy to get an exact diagnosis so that a proper management can be done.

Take Care

Regards
Dr. T Chandrakant,
General Surgeon
