What Kind Of Doctor Should I Consult For Small Wood Splinter In Hand?

Hi, approximately 1 month ago I managed to get several very small wood splinters in my fingers while putting together a piece of furniture. I managed to get most of them out but apparently missed 1. Now the area surrounding it is slightly raised, hard and painful to the touch. The entire area is less than 1/4 inch. The wound (if I can call it that) is scabbed over but not completely closed and there is no pus/inflammation. Since I don't have an old school general practitioner, what type of doc should I see to have this taken care of?.

Hi..
Thanks for the query..
A general surgeon can help you in this regard..
If necessary he/she will remove the piece of wood by a small surgical procedure..
if not required they can suggest you medicines..
Take care..
