What is visceral fat, trunk fact and yellow fat ?

What is Visceral fat , trunk fact, yellow fat etc... The reason this question i asked because very recently one of my friend has been advised by one nutritionals, his visceral fat, trunk fact, BMI is very high and he is in risk stage. Later he has been contacted another doctor and been advised by this doctor that there is no such type of fats in the human body and you can control body cholesterol level by pure Ram Alcohol. As my thought this is a strange/unusual answer from a doctor. Please advise in this regard.

Hello.Welcome to HCM forum.Visceral fat or trunk fat or yellow(white fat) are one and the same thing and are known as ( belly fat) High belly fat is a serious health problem and it increases the chances of cardiovascular problems, heart attacks, diabetes, insulin resistance, strokes etc.Your high BMI OR high waist size ( more than 40 inches in men) are indicators of high amount of visceral or belly fat.One should adopt all measures like dieting and regular aerobic exercises to reduce this fat.Belly fat is inert and and is store house of energy as opposed to BROWN FAT which is metabolic more active and is found more in infants and provides warmth to the child as it is more involved in burning. You can't control body cholesterol by taking rum or alcohol. Thanks and good luck.
