What Is The Yellowish Slimy Substance On The Paper When Wiped The Backside?

Hi my 9 year old son came to me today and said that when he wiped his backside that there was a yellowish slimy substance on the paper. I asked him if his poop was like that and he informed me that he had not pooped that he felt slimy back there and went to clean himself. what could this be?

It is possible that it is mucus.

Mucus can sometimes be present in the stool. It can be due to mucus discharge that is swallowed in persons with post nasal drip or due to the mucus produced in the intestines normally.

It does not necessarily indicate that there are any problems with your son.
