What Is The White Spongy White Stuff Inside The Vagina?

Hi I have been having this white spongy clumpy stuff inside my vagina and I went to the doctor and she said it was a yeast infection, however she only did a visual exam. Could this be something more, I thought originally I had BV which I used the metro-vaginal gel for. I'm very concerned about this, because I took diflucan on Friday and it's not showing any signs of clearing up. There's no itching or any other symptoms, just this unsightly white spongy stuff which no odor.

OBGYN 's  Response
Hello,

To properly diagnose vaginal conditions it is better to have a speculum exam and swab tests. Please do not self-medicate, douche or use strong soap solutions. Avoid sexual intercourse without using a barrier. If your partner is experiencing symptoms, he may have to exclude infection and take treatment if necessary.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shanti Vennam, OBGYN
