Mantoux test is used for diagnosis for tuberculosis.
It is a very simple test. Please do not afraid of it.
It is usually suggested when the doctor thinks possibility of tuberculosis. As your mother has cough for 8-9 months, your doctor wants to see whether she is having tuberculosis.
