Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Sir i am suffering from rh. Arthritis and i am getting treatement from last 1and half years..the medicines are methotrexate .hydrochloroquine sulphate...how long this treatment shall be continued...there is some improvement in my condition.. Regards
As medicine therapy will help to reduce the joint inflammation and also help to keep the condition under the control. But the process of the condition might lead to joint pains, stiffness, reduced joint range of motion, muscle weakness etc.
I will advise starting physiotherapy along with the medicine so the body becomes more controlled, strong and stable joints. The exercises will help to reduce the joint compression occurring due to muscle weakness and thereby avoid the pain and inflammation.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
