What Is The Treatment For Weight Lifting Bruises On Forearms And Biceps?

Ok, I tried to lift my lawn mower out of the mud Saturday. It was heavy and I heard a pop when I lifted right below my elbow. Obviously it hurt. I can bend it every way without pain so I don’t think It’s broken. I have large bruises on the inside of my forearm and on the inside of my bicep.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

It’s just contusion and no need to worry much. It occurs due to extravasation of blood under the skin. It will resolve by it self even without treatment. You can take analgesics like Ibuprofen or Diclofenac for pain. Apply ice packs or the affected region and avoid physical activities for couple of days. Most cases resolve with these measures.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
