What Is The Treatment For Vaginal Pain, Itching, Flakes Due To Vaginal Irritation? Unsuccessfully Took Anti-fungals

I have had vaginal irritation in one specific spot for quite some time. I went to the doctor and she prescribed an anti-fungal. I used as directed but the itching an irritation came back. It feel good when I itch it, but then there is some slight pain and discomfort when I stop. I also noticed some flaking of the skin at times due to dryness. Do you have any over the counter recommendations? It is really annoying!

Hi,

Thank you so much for trusting us with your health query.

I am so sorry to hear about this recurrent vaginal itches. From the information you have provided, this for sure sounds like vagina candidosis. It is generally treated with antifungals. If it becomes recurrent, then the doctor need to probe into what the predisposing factors are. This is because, without identifying and controlling for them, the infection would most likely return after treatment is stopped. Some include diabetes, vaginal douching with soap, poor hygiene, etc.

I will suggest that you get that looked into so that treatment and prevention can be accomplished.
I hope you find this helpful. I wish you well. Thank you so much for using our services and please do feel free to ask for more information if need. Thanks.
