What Is The Treatment For Unbearable Wrinkling Of Palms After Working With Water?
My hands get severely wrinkled when working with water. I can't even open my hands because of the unbaring feeling and especially can't touch paper. I have to keep my hands in fists. It's been happening since I was a child and I am now 23. Is there a way to treat this, and what is this condition?
I understood your concern . Wrinkling of skin in water is a physiological process that happens with almost everyone. More in some people than others. Hand and soles have more keratin than other arts of skin, hence they absorb more water. Also there is constriction of blood vessels so hands may feel a little difference in sensation. Try to rub your palms against each other and generate heat, as soon the water evaporates you'll feel fine.
However in rare cases water borne wrinkles are associated with cystic fibrosis, a genetic condition. In cystic fibrosis hand wrinklng is associated with itching, pain and burning sensation. If you feel these symptoms, see the physician and get cystic fibrosis ruled out by chromosome typing.
Hope I helped
