What Is The Treatment For Tonsillitis And Fever?

my son 29 years old was diagnosed with tonsilitis, however had extremely headache, fever and white stuff in his tonsils. The doctor prescribed him amoxicillin and ibuprofen. When he took the antibiotic he started sweating profusely, the sheets where drenched and the sweat was running through his forehead and body. He was running a fever of 102+. Could this be allergic to the antibiotic or ibuprofen? He has taken ibuprofen before and when he was an infant they gave him amoxicillin and did not have that reaction. Is this a side effect or should the doctor change the medication?
