What Is The Treatment For Tickling Sensation In Ear?

I have a tickling feeling occasionally in my left ear, and when I use a q-tip in it, at a certain point, it almost sounds and feels like the q-tip is rubbing against cotton. It doesn't hurt, per se, but it tickles throughout the day. It also doesn't have much wax in it when I do use the q-tip. Just wanting to know if that sounds like an infection of some sort, or if its normal.
