What Is The Treatment For The Stage III Renal Disease In A 75 Year Old?

My husband is 75 yrs. old, has had successful bypass surgery several years ago and has hd splints put in a couple years ago. Now we find out he has stage 111 renal disease. His doctor says not to worry that this is usually brought on by age. This makes me feel as though he is saying, he s 75 years old, he s had a good life, this is just what older people get. Well, let me tell you something; this man,my husband, isn t ready to lie down and die! What can we do?
