General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi! Good evening. I am Dr Shareef answering your query. If I were your doctor, I would first advise your daughter not to fiddle with the acne, which might have got secondarily infected due to the squeezing or the like. Also, shoulder area might be not be a preferred region to get a wound which might turn into a keloid, for which your doctor might have advised for a steroid injection into it. However, it could not be done while it was infected. So, the infection had to be controlled first before going for any kind of invasive procedure. As this requires a personal physical examination of the wound, I would recommend you to take her to a surgical OPD in the nearby hospital, where proper diagnosis could be made followed by appropriate treatment before it turns into a keloid.

I hope this information would help you in discussing with your family physician/treating doctor in further management of your problem. Please do not hesitate to ask in case of any further doubts.

Thanks for choosing health care magic to clear doubts on your health problems. I wish you an early recovery. Dr Shareef.
