I now have muffled hearing. Also, when I pinch my nose and blow I can hear air coming out of my ear my neighboor heard it too. He said it sounded like bubles. When I put in ear drops to get ride of the water (95% alcohol) it hurt a lot. It felt like a severe burning sensation. How should I treat? I am a flight atttendant and I have to work the day after tomorrow. Am I going to be OK to be in the pressurized environment of the airplane
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
Don't pour those liquids in your ear as it may cause further damage. Mostly you have an ear concussion which will make tympanic membrane rupture if handled recklessly. You need to consult ENT for further evaluation and treatment before you enter the flight. Yes, it will cause complications.
Hope I have answered your query.
