What Is The Treatment For Swollen Lymph Nodes And Muscle Pain?

Hi Doctor,

I have swolen lympenode in neck, throat near the coller bone joint, white spot on tonsiles, whole body masule pain and getting no strength on them, pain in chest near collar bone area al timel the time, whole body masule shake all the time, gas in stomach even I am full, bit pain in bottom of the penis ans testics. All these symtoms are like hiv infection or not?

Hello dear,

First of all, HIV infection cannot be diagnosed only on the basis of symptoms.
The symptoms as mentioned in your post can be attributed to upper respiratory tract infection or acute tonsillitis.
It can be managed by a course of antibiotics.

However, to relieve your concern, you can undergo certain tests like p24 assay or PCR for HIV, which becomes positive within a week and are almost 100 % sensitive.
Even the presence of a single virus in the body can be detected by PCR.
So, if this test comes negative, you can be sure that you are safe.
