What Is The Treatment For Swelling In Arm After An Injection?

i am male, 60 yrs of age. at annual checkup Thurs, i got DPT shot. today, saturday, the lymph node in the armpit on the side which got the shot is swollen (about 1/2 golf ball size) and tender to the touch. the muscle at site of injection is expectedly tender. i am assuming the swelling is related to the DPT. otherwise, no fatigue or temperature and feeling good.

Hi,

This is normal to have pain and swelling over the injection site. It will take 1/2 weeks for it to subside. You can apply ice over the painful area. Rest nothing to worry about.

Hope this helps you. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Jenis Bhalavat
