What Is The Treatment For Strep Throat?

i got diagnosed with strep throat yesterday afternoon at about 3, the Dr gave me a shot in the butt and prescribed me antibiotics. He said I should have felt much better by last night because of the shot. this evening my throat is so swollen I cant barely eat, drink or talk, and still have a fever. gargled with salt water a little while ago and spit out pus and a little blood with it. should I get back to the Dr? I m a mess..please help? Glenn

Hello,

Your symptoms seem to be related to a resistant infection. For this reason, switching to another antibiotic may be needed. I would also recommend performing a throat discharge bacterial culture in order to find this proper antibiotics which can help fight the infection.
