What Is The Treatment For Stomach Pain And Urgency For Motions?

Hi, I was diagnosed with diverticulitis a number of years ago. not had any real problems since but been getting stomach pain and feeling wanting to go to the toilet for the past few weeks. Seems similar to what I experienced before, I have not been taking any medicine. Also recently I have been having pain under the left arm and left chest and now noticed s imilar . .in under the left arm> Could this be connected? am male, 63 years old.

Hello,
I can understand your concern for your symptoms.
1) Pain under left arm and on left chest is not related to diverticulitis. This might be due to cardiac or lung related and require consultation to internal medicine specialist.
2) Stomach pain and inadequate defecation are due to diverticulitis. This might be related to low fiber content in your diet.
3) Taking high fiber diet help to prevent diverticulitis episodes and also reduce symptoms related to it.
