I just came from an appt with a PM&R dr who has said I will start with an epidural injection in my neck for spondylosis If that doesnt work then hell do the next phase these can be done in my home town If these do not work he said the 3rd phase is burning or maybe i heard it wrong. I have to go back to him in Duluth for that one. They do not do that one in my home town. Not sure what I heard.
You are suffering from spondylosis. Take rest, taking a break from sports and other strenuous activities will be helpful for you. You can take anti-inflammatory medicines, Combiflam or Naproxen, one stat when needed. It will help to give relieve. Applying pain relieving ointment or Volini spray at the area affected is also helpful. If needed your treating doctor will prescribe steroid injections to help relieve pain.
Physical therapy helps to do exercises. Exercises help to strengthen the muscles and improve flexibility to help you move without pain. Sometimes, depending on how the patients respond to treatment bracing is recommended. Back brace help to stabilize the spine and helps to heal faster.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
