What Is The Treatment For Skin Discoloration Caused Due To Supatret Cream?

Hi i am 48 years old female. I approach a dermatologist for the acne treatment. He prescribed supatret C aqueous gel and ask me apply on the whole face during night and also prescribed Lacne 10 capsules and xtraglo tablet. But after applying the above cream on face it becomes dark and again i approach the same doctor then he cancelled above cream and prescribed the Zyclin nano get at night and Papulex cream on morning. But i feel that the creams are reducing only the acne and not changing the colour of my skin which was turned black due to the use of the supatret cream. At this stage what shall i do?

Hello. Thanks for writing to us at healthcaremagic

I will keep a possibility of Post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (PIH). The cream you mention contains a topical retinoid i.e tretinoin. Tretinoin is an irritant and can induce PIH in some individuals.
You may use a sunscreen to prevent further sun induced darkening.
At night you may use a cream containing skin lightening ingredients like Kojic acid, glycolic acid etc, once or twice daily.
Kojic acid inhibits new melanin synthesis and therefore lightens skin; glycolic acid is an peeling agent and help in exfoliating already existing pigment thereby achieving the desired result.
You may bring this concern to the notice of your doctor. Your dermatologist after assessing would prescribe you accordingly.
