What Is The Treatment For Sharp Ear Pain After Flu?

Hello doctor, i've been experiencing sharp ear pain, particularly in my right ear, subsequent to my flu a few days ago. The pain comes randomly -- sometimes triggered by a sweet or salty item or even by speaking. Is this uncommon and what can i suspect this to be?

hi,
it is possible that your ear is infected.
you should see a doctor for confirmation.
till then you can take a pain killer like tylenol after checking the dose.
instill decongestant nose drops like otrivin. these drops help to ventilate the ear better thereby aid in healing.
instill 3 drops of otrivin in each nostril 3 times a day for 6 days and follow it up with steam everytime.
regards,
Dr Rajkishori Godhi.
