Hi Dear, Welcome to HCM. Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of severe coughing and brown yellow phlegm. Well the symptoms you mention in query can occur due to many reasons , but in your case in seems to me that the symptoms are due to untreated upper respiratory tract infection. Wheezing and loss of voice is due to left untreated respiratory tract infection and specially in case of low immunity the infection spread to surroundings like larynx , ear through eustachian tube or to lungs . Need not to worry much. For now do warm saline gargles and take steam twice a day and you should avoid cold carbonated beverages. I would suggest you to consult ENT specialist for proper examination. Doctor may order certain test like throat swab test, viral culture test and X-ray of upper respiratory tract . Doctor may prescribe antibiotic amoxicillin or penicillin at least along with decongestant , expectorant and anti histamine. Doctor may also refer you to chest specialist .
