hi i have a large mass in the posterior pelvis area that has been diagnosed as a schwannoma. through imaging it 95 percent not cancerous.it is on the s1 and s2 nerve. right now i cannot get a biopsy because of the placement of the tumor .how can i rule out cancer without this procedure
Hi, the only way to rule that out would be a Biopsy. You can get a CT or MRI guided biopsy if the Radiologist is confident. Have you planned to get it operated or leave it alone. If you plan to undergo Surgery then the surgery specimen would be able to tell what it was. If you plan against Surgery then you could wait but will have to take the low but possible chance of sitting on a Cancer. All the best for your successful treatment, Dr Rishi, New Delhi, India.
