What Is The Treatment For Red Lesions On The Thighs And Hip?

I have red lesions on my thighs, front and back, behind the knees, a few on my hips, stomach and back. A few showed up 7 weeks ago and were very red and itchy. I thought I had been bitten by a spider. Now I have many more and my legs look like a case of red polka dots. The doctor at a medical clinic seemed puzzled but prescribed a steroid cream and said to see him in a week for a referral to a dermatologist if I was the same. After two days, the itch has gone but the lesions look the same. They are dry and have become larger over time. Do you know what these might be?

Hi..
welcome to healthcaremagic.com and myself Dr. Atishay Bukharia, would be answering your questions..

Your illness is falling into 2 differential diagnosis, first is Scabies and other is PAPULAR URTICARIA, Scabies is caused by mite while PAPULAR URTICARIA is an insect hypersensitivity reaction. Steroid can cause symptomatic relief in both the condition but until and unless exact cause is not cured the disease is going to recur so I would advise to observe the lesion for any kind of recurrence and if it does then please revert back to us with photographs.

hope it helps

if you have any other question please do not hesitate to contact us
