My daughters throat is very red and swollen to the point where it is almost swollen shut and also has white dots on it. we went to the dr and they did a step test and it came back negative she s had fever and it s not gone down at all . They said they would send the test off to look at cultures. It s going on 3 days and still haven t heard anything I keep calling the dr office and they tell me they don t have results yet. Do you happen to know what this could be? Why would test results be so long to get back. When they swabbed her throat they used two swabs instead of one like they usually do. Do u know why they used two. Last week she had a rash under her armpit and on back of neck as well.
Hi, dear I have gone through your question. I can understand your concern. She has upper respiratory tract infection. She should take a broad spectrum antibiotics like cefadroxil or levofloxacin till she get culture report then she should take antibiotics according to sensitivity results. Antihistaminics drugs like chlorpheneremine malate or cetrizine can be helpful. Consult your doctor and take treatment accordingly. Two swabs are taken for definitive results. Nothing new in that. Hope I have answered your question, if you have doubt then I will be happy to answer. Thanks for using health care magic. Wish you a very good health.
