What Is The Treatment For Recurrent Boils On The Body?

I get boils anywhere on my body, doc said I am pre diabetic, cut out sugar and gluten, mostly moose meat and vegetables, eggs and a little fruit. Have high blood pressure, it is under control, hard to loose weight, worry about boils. They start as a flat red spot and the next day look sort of like it is going to be a blister and then turns to a boil, can you help.

Hi,

I can understand your concern for the recurrent boils on the body.

It appears form your query that you have developed infection in the area with inflammation at the affected region. This area is quite common to get infected very easily because of sweating and high bacterial proliferation.

For time being period you can apply antibiotic cream such as fucidin or mupirocin and take pain killer tablets such diclofenac or paracetamol.

Do not try to even touch or pinch the area as can cause more aggravation of the problem and spread of the infection.

If it is increasing despite the treatment then meet a dermatologist or any family physician and get a proper treatment without delay for the oral antibiotic such as ciprofloxacin or cefadroxyl 500 mg two times a day for 5 days to prevent secondary infection.

Take care.
