Plantar fasciitis is the inflammation of the plantar fascia the tissue which connects toe and heel.
Strain of tha fascia results in inflammation, like prolong standing, uncontrolled BMI,play activities, too flat shoes, flat foot, calf muscle tightness.
Reapted such strains cause tears in the fascia results in inflammation, so pain and swelling.
It can unilateral or bilateral. Pain may radiate to calf or knee.
Pain will be more when he get ups from bed early morning or after long rest.

As a routine I need few details about
Age, duration of pain, any other illness, onset of pain in a day, any injuries in past.type of job, how much the condition affected the daily activities.

Plantar fasciitis pain can be well treated by physical therapy modalities
Ultrasound massage
IFT Or Iontophoresis

It gives him a great relief from inflammation so please talk to your dr to start the treatment as early.

With treatment he wii experience less pain in days and continue home care along with modalities like
1.ice massage 10 to 15 min early morning in bed
2.combination of hot and cold therapy
3.calf streching exercise
4.arch support and 1 to 2 inch heel support shoes
5.contionding other near by joints by strengthening exercises
6.use diclofinac gel twice daily
7.if daily activities are affected please take proper rest.
8.weight reduction.

Treatment can be taken along with drugs given by orthopaedic dr.

Maximum cases are well treated with conservative management, but it may reoccur when strained again and precautions to be carried, but however it z well controlled within 6 months.
Hope it is useful.
