What Is The Treatment For Non Scarring Traction Alopecia?

Hey! Im 25 years old. I went to the dermatologist recently for my hair and he told me i had non-scarring traction alopecia for when i used to have braids since i was in either 4th or 5th grade and i had gotten them cut for the first time in 2012 because i realize some of my hair had came out and my scalp looked really bad and was inflamed..but ive since gotten the redness out. So how do i get the dark color out my scalp and back to being clear again so my hair can fully grow over my scalp as oppose to half growing over it?

Hello,

As per your case history of traction alopecia, my treatment advice is -
1. Avoid traction by having a loose hairstyle.
2. Apply coconut oil and use a mild herbal shampoo for routine use.
3. Take an iron supplement and vitamin b12 supplement once daily for three months.
If the problem persists, then consult a dermatologist.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Harshit Bhachech
