What Is The Treatment For Migraines?

Hello, my name is Brooke and I am only 16 years old. I am suffering from migraines and have been for about 2-3 weeks. I have not gone to the doctors again yet because I do not want to worry my mother. I have been taking Aleve and it helped at first, but now it helps for only half and hour and then I get a headache, which turns into a migraine shortly after. Everything I do makes my head hurt, and on some occasions I have even become really dizzy and it was a little hard for me to focus on what I was doing or even stand up straight. I went to the doctors in October and found out that I had a sinus infection. They told me to take some pills, which I did, but the migraines came back after I stopped taking the pills. I am not stressed, I get plenty of sleep ,I eat right, and I try not to over exert myself. My question is, is this serious and what should I do? I am sorry for bothering you by typing this long query, I am just worried. Thank you for taking the time to read this though and I hope that you are able to address this. Again, thank you.

Hello
It seems from the history that you are having chronic migraine.
The treatment for migraine in the acute episode is by ergotamine or by use of analgesics and anti-inflammatory drugs.
Prophylactic treatment is required to prevent recurrent attacks. The commonly used prophylactic drugs are flunarizine or beta blockers like propranolol.
Hence I advice you to consult your doctor for examination and treatment accordingly.

Thank you
