What Is The Treatment For Melanoma?
I was diagnosed with Melanoma last year and a subsequent PET scan showed metabolic activity at the anterior costochondral junction. The radiologist assured my doctor it was a fractured rib. My scan was taken to a tumor board who recommended I wait 3 months and have another PET scan. Now I learn that Medicare won t pay for another scan since I have had no intervening treatment. One health care professional suggested a bone scan. Do you feel this is sufficient or should I pay the $5,000 for another PET scan out of my pocket.
