What Is The Treatment For Mantle Cell Lymphoma And High Cholesterol?

56 yo male 5'8" 235# one year ago diagnosed and treated for Mantle Cell lymphoma which is in remission. Diabetic, very high cholseterol, neuropathy and swelling in calves and feet regularly. Have had occasional chest pain in the upper left quadrant that does not improve with position. NO shortness of breath or dizziness. Blood pressure has been borderline. Meds: Metformin, insulin (humulin and long lasting), lunesta for sleep, lyrica for foot pain along with a high dose B complex called nanex or something like that. Just started gemfibrozil yesterday. HI,welcome to HCM.
You seem to be receiving an excellent treatment for all your health ailments. As long as mantle cell lymphoma is in remission with chemotherapy ,it poses no further risk to your heart or for that matter any organ. The calf pain in your case needs special attention for screening deep vein thrombus which can be pretty common in post chemotherapy patients. This can present with occasional chest pain and shortness of breadth and calf pain. For this you need a Doppler venous ultrasound of both your legs.Elevated cholesterol can be well managed with Gemfibrozil.Try to substitute hydrocondone with non opioid drugs like ibuprofen in consultation with your Doctor.Have a semiannual 2 D screening echo and EKG .Consult your Doctor for further queries.
Thank you
