What Is The Treatment For Lung Infection?

My husband has broken his shoulder but they have been unable to to operate due to a lung infection. Whilst waiting for the op he has fallen on his shoulder burst open the swollen area and for 4 days it has been leaking nasty yellow brown gooey fluid. The medics keep changing it but its no sighn of stoppping leaking. He is awaiting bed for shoulder op any day now. What is this stuff leaking ??

This is likely pus from an infected wound. He should seek medical attention immediately. This will require antibiotics at the least, and may require surgical debridement of the wound as well.
