I am 75 yrs old and not sexually active. About a week ago I developed a terrible itch in the vagina area. I bought an over the counter medication. The itch left but now these lumps appear on the labia majora and are quite sore. I have been putting hot compresses on them. When one disappears another comes out. What to do?
Lumps can occur due to minor infections, cyst or abscess filled with pus. Any history of fever or difficulty/painful urination should be ruled out.Vaginal bleeding or abnormal discharge should be ruled out.
Clinical examination may be required to identify the cause. You may need a course of antibiotics to reduce the infection.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
